Gotta Start Somewhere by Sreliata Gotta Start Somewhere by Sreliata
First mesh-model I "kind of" did by myself. I had the lovely NightHawk1984 assisting me from beginning to end though, and it wouldn't had been possible without her!

The head of Tifa is a collab between NightHawk1984 and Daniellahill, while the Body is from Sheppard Sporty, made by SumireHaikuXNA.
:la: I think it came out pretty well, for my first mesh model!!

Thank you so so much, NightHawk1984 :la:!

well those are the ones we usually use since her hands have the fingernail mesh on them where as the others dont xD

The ones on the model there has fingernails! Nice ones even- though the final fantasy hands probably suit it better. I'll change them next time! :la:

thats alright, u dont have to of course :P each person is different ^^ so my preference might not be one that you like :giggle: i just personally like the hands of fang much more than those of other models :)

one thing to remember when adding hands aswell (since i see that nighty showed you how to attach the head and make the seams look nice and sewn up together ^^ so it doesnt leave gaps when moving the body) its basically exactly the same as when you added the head :)

sometimes aswell you will find that moving vertices around aswell after you have added something will make them look nicer too ^^ and you dont have random extra vertices laying around that look weird in certain positions :giggle:

And yesterday we realized they are good for something else also: Making breasts bigger and smaller... :XD:
We just moved Vertices and scaled them in order to get the breasts bigger on that one.
And it worked!

I think I like fangs hands more too- next time I'll add them. This was just the first try, you know- nothing hard, just adding the head for a start.

yeah i agree ^^ its good to practice all different things and then try them all at once ^^ adding a head is a good start ^^

i know when i was learning i always practiced merging the armatures together, and sewing the seams on the neck ^^ once you know those basics, its pretty simple from there :D the hands are done exactly the same way as the neck, and also if you use a model that has shoes that show skin (like the don corneo models we made) those again are done exactly the same as the head ^^

a good step after that to learn is merging hairstyles (like how i did with aerith) to create something new ^^ but really its up to you to try which ever you want to do ^^ i know my strenghts with the models is Rigging, and merging parts of the hair together to make new hairstyles to go on the head ^^ i think Nightys strengths would be the retexturing and merging clothes together ^^

id be happy to help you out with modelling too if your stuck ^^

You know... that all sounds very very complicated!!
Really so- but I'd love to learn what I can from you two, because just like you, I have so many ideas but I'd feel like such a big bother always having to ask others to do that for me.

Maybe you could show me a bit about rigging somewhen!?
I know Nighty doesn't have Skype. But do you? :la:

Thank you so much though for your feedback so far.
Is always good to get that- helps improving a lot.
